One of  his main areas of focus is music law, working with recording artists, producers, composers, managers, music service businesses, and festivals. He is involved in the music scene and focuses on professional development, to help creators understand the business of their craft. An Entertainment Lawyer who’s practice focuses on legal transactions in the entertainment industry, including film, television, interactive digital media, and software. He frequently advises his clients on copyright licensing, employment law, corporate law and privacy matters.

Over the years he has gained particular experience working for clients, such as Skyship Entertainment Company, who produce content for a childhood audience through a variety of distribution methods.

Prior to joining Edwards Creative Law, Ian articled at a personal injury firm in Toronto and worked as a personal trainer.

Michael Duboff is a Canadian entertainment lawyer with a professional focus on music, film and television, publishing, and corporate matters. He has worked with a variety of artists and creative businesses helping to facilitate projects, performance opportunities locally and across borders, and organizational matters.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Michael’s practice spans across Manitoba where he carries on clients and representation in addition to the firm’s primary residence in Ontario.

Prior to working as a lawyer, Michael has worked professionally in both the music and film/tv industries, as a musician in an alternative rock band and as a freelance director/writer/producer in Toronto and Vancouver. His passion for the arts and artists helps drive his practice and makes him grateful to be able to continue to work for and with the vibrant arts communities.

As far back as her high school musical days, Gina has thrived on working behind-the-scenes in support of the creative industries.

She has studied Arts Administration at Humber College and received her law degree from Bond University in Australia. After returning to Canada, she worked for such organizations as the National Ballet of Canada and Prologue to the Performing Arts.
